In this week’s segment, we talk with Kandy Stanton, Director of Marketing and Communications for the United Way of Central Florida. Kandy graduated with her AS in Graphic Design from the Lakeland Campus of Keiser University in 2004 where she was also employed as a work study. Kandy has been an active member of the KU Lakeland Graphic Arts & Design Advisory Board for the past 10 years and has taught several courses at the Lakeland Campus in Graphic Arts as an adjunct professor. Her first hire in her new position was Justin Pugh, another KU Lakeland Graphics graduate, so now Kandy is also a KU employer.
Before coming to Keiser, Kandy was in finance for a New York insurance firm.
Enjoy as Kandy discusses her career, what she was looking for in a new employee, and insight into working for a non-profit agency for the past 12 years. As always Kandy, thank you for all you do for our students and our community.
As COO, I know how fortunate we are to have Kandy at United Way of Central Florida. She always finds a way to get the job done and keeps a sense of humor under pressure – constant deadlines create a lot of pressure!
